Stephen Ministry

“Bear one another’s burden, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”  (Galatians 6:2)

“God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”  (Hebrews 13: 5b)

Jesus said, “Love one another as I have loved you.”  (John13:34)

Stephen Ministry was re-established at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in 2010.  Stephen Ministers provide care to persons who are experiencing some type of crisis or challenge in their lives, such as death of a loved one, divorce, health issues, loneliness, etc.  Stephen Ministers do not replace pastoral care, nor are they counselors.  Stephen Ministers are trained to walk along side someone, be a listener, and show Jesus’ love and care in a confidential manner.
