God’s Story: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Consummation

Beginning January 8, the adult Sunday School class for the Winter months will be discussion format based off of the sermon series.  That series will be a look at God’s Story: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Consummation.  The sermon will highlight in broad strokes, God’s Big Picture and then focus on that particular component (either C, F, R, C) and then focus on a narrative or character that highlights that part of the story.

Far from being a smattering of sayings and stories collected over the ages, the Bible is a coherent story that tells of a loving, powerful, and holy God and his dealings with his rebellious people.  This Story tells us where we came from, who we are, what went wrong, how can it be fixed, and where is it all going.

God’s Story gives us the framework for interpreting this crazy, beautiful, pain filled, world that we live in.  As we look at God’s word and realize where we are in the story, it gives us the interpretive lens to better understand what it meant to the original audience and then also to us.

And… it (God’s Story) invites us to take our part in the narrative!

This class will meet in the front of Fellowship Hall.
